Lemonade chicken

Recipe #2

Out of same crockpot as last one (taste of homes quick cooking 2006)

6 chicken breasts

3/4 cup lemonade concentrate

3 Tablespoons ketchup

2 Tablespoons brown sugar

1 Tablespoon cider vinegar

2 Tablespoons cornstarch

2 Tablespoons cold water

Place chicken in 5 qt crockpot. Stir lemonade, ketchup, sugar, and vinegar and pour over chicken. Cover and cook on low for 2 1/2-3 hours, until juice runs clear.

This was very good, actually. I was kind of surprised how tart it was at first, but then I ended up pouring the sauce I made on everything. Everyone ate it and there were no leftovers!

Best Chili Ever

2 lbs ground beef
1 onion
some garlic

2 cans diced tomatoes
2 cans tomato paste
3-4 cans beans of choice (black, pinto, garbanzo, etc)
1 cup strong coffee
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 T(Tablespoon) chili powder
1 T cumin
1 T cocoa powder
1 T oregano
1 t (teaspoon) coriander
1 t cayenne
1 t salt

Brown beef, onion, and garlic, then drain fat. Put in crockpot and add everything else. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or low 3-4. I always put cheese, sour cream, and oyster crackers right before serving! The leftovers are always delicious, almost better than the first servings!
SORRY no picture, if you've seen one chili, you've seen them all :)

Flavorful Pot Roast Results

Very good! I am very happy with how it turned out, no one flavor stood out, but very good and simple pot roast! The gravy was awesome with our mashed potatoes, and my husband said the gravy was, "better than dad's." Yeah!

Flavorful Pot Roast

This recipe is from a Taste fo Home's Quick Cooking book of Annual Recipes 2006. I received it from my mom for Christmas one year, and have been slowly going through recipes. Some don't look appetizing, some are similar to things I already make and love, and then there are some that I want to try. So here's #1

Flavorful Pot Roast

2 boneless beef chuck roasts (2.5 lbs each) (I did only one)
1 envelope ranch salad dressing mix (I used half)
1 envelope Italian salad dressing mix (I used half)
1 envelope brown gravy mix (I used half)
1/2 cup water

Place roasts in 5 qt. crockpot. In small bowl, combine dressing and gravy mixes. Stir in water. Pour over meat. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or until tender. If desired, thicken cooking juices for gravy.

Still cooking.....smells good!

Introduction to my blog

I decided to start this blog to record my attempts at new crockpot recipes. I have a lot of fall back on recipes, but thought I should periodically try something new. I will alternate new and old recipes so I can share my successes as well as my attempts that may fail! Enjoy my blog :)
